About me

I was born in the Black Forest.
After studying languages at Heidelberg University I moved to Spain where I lived for over 20 years.

It was in Spain that I heard about the ‘Camino de Santiago’ for the first time and that one day I decided to set off and do it.                                       
In 2009  I walked from Le Puy to Saint Jean, unaware that things would never be the same again.
I knew right from the start that I wanted to buy a house on the Via Podiensis in France where I could open my own pilgrims’ hostel.

But I did not want to rush into it so I worked at a pilgrims' hostel in Saint Jean for two years. During that time
I learnt a lot about the special needs of pilgrims from all over the world.
