Since the end of the 10th century millions of people from all over the world have made the pilgrimage to the tomb of the Apostle James in Santiago de Compostela.
Most of them have set off from their home towns, a fact that has led to the creation of many different routes to Santiago over the centuries.
Apart from the main routes, there have always been alternatives as well, such as the long distance track GR 654 from Vézelay that goes past Montréal du Gers!
